Cherry Cookies


all purpose flour baking powder baking soda salt granulated sugar cream cheese unsalted butter oil egg maraschino cherries cherry juice almond extract

Start by whisking the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.

In another bowl, cream together the sugar, cream cheese, and melted butter.

Now add in the oil and stir to combine.

Next, whisk in an egg.

Now add in the chopped cherries and cherry syrup and mix.

Fold in the flour mixture to this wet batter to complete the cookie dough.

The dough will be a bit softer but will still hold a ball shape.

Scoop these out on a baking sheet and place them 2 inches apart as they will spread.

Bake in a preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes and they're done!

These cherry cookies and crispy around the edges and perfectly soft & chewy in the middle!
