Chocolate Cherry Cake

In a bowl, mix together the flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.

Mix together the buttermilk, cherry syrup, and vanilla extract in a measuring cup.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until it is light and fluffy.

Add the eggs and egg yolk to it and whisk it really well.

Now add 1/3 of the flour mixture and mix. Next, add half of the wet mixture and mix.

Continue alternating between the flour mixture and the buttermilk mixture. You can also add a bit of pink food coloring if you'd like.

Fold in the chopped cherries and chocolate chips and pour the batter in a prepared bundt pan to bake in your preheated oven.

Bake for 50-60 mins or until a toothpick comes out clean. Meanwhile, make your easy chocolate glaze!

In a small saucepan, heat up the cream, corn syrup, and chocolate and whisk it constantly until smooth.

Take the saucepan off the heat and stir in the vanilla. It will thicken up as it cools down. Your glaze is done!

When the cake is done baking, let it cool in the pan for about 20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Pour the glaze on your bundt cake and let it drizzle on the side. Your simple but delicious chocolate cherry cake is done!
